Once the songs had a backbone, lead guitarist Joe Hilton was brought in to bolster the sound. His riffs were the final part of the puzzle and after deciding on the name Sundown Hounds, the boys performed their first gig and set about recording their first track Crocodile Tears in January 2017.
They went back into the studio that October to record the rest of the Cabaret Kicks EP with special help from Hannah Rounce on backing vocals and Paul Duffy providing the horn section on Happy Clappy.
The boys are known for their high octane live performances playing at Manchester venues including Night and Day Cafe, Soup Kitchen and Jimmy's and they aim to put that energy into their recordings.
They're currently working on some new material with a view to getting some new tracks released in 2019.
The future is bright for Sundown Hounds!
