Trevor and The Joneses are an indie psychedelic folk punk alternative garage hard rock and roll band that coagulated in Las Vegas, NV, USA in early 2012.
Released on 12/22/12 their critically acclaimed first album There Was Lightning is a catchy exploration through many styles of guitar rock. Starting with punk influenced opener "Dig This!" and ending with psychedelic noise mess "Superslow," nearly all your rock and roll bases are covered.
Following hundreds of shows, a There Was Lightning vinyl release on Plane Groovy Records in the UK, indie/college radio play for 9/10 Lightning tracks, and opening slots for notable/influential artists such as Joel Gion, Spindrift, The Warlocks, Immigrant Union, and Matt Hollywood, second album Take You to Stay was released 10/01/17. Stay is an experimental departure for the band in several ways features many different instruments than its predecessor: sitar, keyboards, melodica, jaw harp, to name a few, new member John Fallon (of The Steppes) on bass, and it was recorded/improvised mostly at Joe's house. It contains songs the band had previously debuted at concerts: keyboard-pop jam "Squares," catchy jangle-rocker "Well as Well" dark-psyche head-nodder "Gotta Run" as well as in-studio experiments such as teeth-grinding "Breaking Bones," eerie instrumental "Meteors" and title track "Take You to Stay" which features Barnaby Gallagher on the sitar. A video for the garage rock "On My Mind" was released to coincide with the album.
