Soledad Pastorutti, also known as 'La Sole', is an Argentine folk singer who brought the genre to younger generations.
In 1996, made her debut at Cosquin's National Folklore Festival, releasing her first album Poncho Al Viento (Sony Music's best-selling folk album ever in Argentina. Sold over 1 million copies). In 1999, she recorded Yo Si Quiero A Mi País, under the production of Emilio Estefan, that album opened doors to Bolivia, Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, Peru, Mexico, USA and Spain. In 2014, Soledad released Raíz with Lila Downs and Niña Pastori, winner of the Latin Grammy Award for Best Folk Album. In 2015, released Vivir Es Hoy. In 2016, Soledad celebrated her 20-year career with Soledad 20 Años (En Vivo), show at the mythical Cosquin Festival, where many of the most important artists from Argentina joined her on stage for an unprecedented event which demonstrated her undeniable popularity, her incredible charisma, and the great deal of respect and recognition she has earned from her peers. In June she was contracted by ABC to sing "Don't Cry for Me Argentina". She was coach for the Argentine version of 'The Voice' and 'Rising Star'. She has released more than 16 albums and has been nominated for several Latin Grammy Awards. She has recorded duets with Carlos Vives, Santana, Franco De Vita, Sandro and Mercedes Sosa. In 2018, the Latin Recording Academy performs, for the first time in Argentina, the Latin GRAMMY® Acoustic Sessions, starring Carlos Vives and Soledad.
