The Zealots are a haphazard group of entertainers who hark from deepest south London. Their sound has been described as having “mixed the musicianship of Stevie Wonder, the funk/rock sound of Red Hot Chilli Peppers and the positivity and rhythm of Jamiroquai.” (godisinthetvzine blog).
Throw in a little bit of Steely Dan and you’re there. They are a regulars on the London music scene and have, in the last 3 years, been honing their sound in their own purpose built studio. Take the expressive rhythm section, mix it with some juicy chords, add some blues guitar, a horn section and some hammond organ, put some stacked harmonies on top and you’ll start to imagine their sound.
Their members have played with everyone from Stevie Wonder to Lalah Hathaway, Ed Sheeran to Jessie Ware. After recent success playing around the UK and Europe they’re now looking to release more of their music into the airwaves in 2020 and continue the crusade.
