Andre Ivey, professionally known as GradeA, is an emerging record producer and artist from Charlotte, NC.
At a young age he picked up on music and started producing and rapping when his mom bought him and his brother a computer and a keyboard. GradeA released his first instrumental beat tape "The Bass Tape" in 2014. It went on to received positive reviews on SoundCloud and gained the attention of Miami artist Jay Red who used one of the beats for his hit single Gone. After a year of working on new music with local artist and placements on several projects, 2016 brought on the release of his project The Crown Tape. This mixtape not only showcased his advancement in production, but also his lyrical and songwriting ability. The Crown Tape received positive reviews and garnered a small buzz in the blog and SoundCloud community. In 2017 GradeA went on to win the 2017 Beats N Bars Festival Producer Battle sponsored by Moog Music. At the close of 2017, GradeA released his second instrumental project Sonic Therapy, Vol. 1 (Instrumental) which was the first of a series of instrumental mixtapes planned for 2018. Sonic Therapy, Vol. 2 was officially released in June 2018.
