Soul courses through Mama Haze’s DNA. During her childhood in the Bay Area, the budding songstress, Meaghan Maples, split her time between singing in church and being the neighborhood emcee.
Galvanized by the likes of Billie Holiday and Lauryn Hill, she followed in their footsteps by developing a style that’s unequivocally her own. Working closely with Tim Myers (OneRepublic, James Arthur, Capital Cities, Hailee Steinfeld), CEO of Palladium Records, they brought Mama Haze to life. Myers co-wrote and produced the 11-song debut album Honey with Meaghan Maples at Palladium Studios in Los Angeles, releasing worldwide on May 4, 2018. Each song comes a real place of struggle, endurance, and celebration. Hear the Rock & Roll classic, “Welcome to My House” as featured on Grey’s Anatomy. While you will find the anthem “Heart Of A Lion” on repeat, you can even hear truth in Mama Haze’s ballad “I’m Free” as it evokes the perfect jazz qualities.
