A member of the Bay Area group the Team and a solo artist as well, MC Clyde Carson combines his hometown's favored sound of hyphy with a darker, more street-flavored style of rap.
After launching his solo career in 2001 with The Story, Vol. 1, Carson devoted most of his energy to the Team, who rose to hyphy fame with hits like "Hyphy Juice." Carson got back to his solo career in earnest in 2012, releasing the S.T.S.A. (Something to Speak About) mixtape that year and the "Slow Down" single a year later. In 2014 he released the Playboy EP, which featured a guest appearance from veteran MC Master P. He followed with Time in 2016. The next year, S.T.S.A. 2 arrived, featuring appearances by E-40, Mozzy, and Keak da Sneak. ~ David Jeffries, Rovi
