Jazz D / Cubismo 8. 2 (Lost in Buenos Aires I) - Mix Cut - AAAA,
Architectural is a pseudonym of Barcelona-based techno musician Juan Rico. While Rico is perhaps best known for releasing darker, harder-edged industrial techno under the name Reeko, his work as Architectural is more spacious and minimal, with ambient and dub influences.
As the name suggests, his tracks are carefully structured and deliberate, yet there's still a sense of fluidity and adventurousness to them. Architectural debuted anonymously in 2010, with a series of singles released by a label sharing the moniker. Other Architectural singles appeared on Paradigma Musik ("Dreams") and Semantica Records ("Peacetime"). In 2013, Oscar Mulero's Pole Recordings released The Blue Album, credited to both Reeko and Architectural. Arriving in 2014, the double CD Secret Chapter (credited solely to Architectural and released on his eponymous label) included one disc of new material and a compilation of the first four Architectural 12" EPs. Architectural 05 also appeared that year, as did a split 12" EP with Kessell on Granulart Recordings. The third Architectural full-length, Amour, appeared on Wolfskuil Records in 2015. The 10" single Seven appeared on Architectural in 2016, followed by the Elastic Layouts EP on Non Series. A more experimental album titled Metropolitan Opera appeared in early 2017. ~ Paul Simpson, Rovi
