The dates of birth in the passports of Middelburg’s indie rock band PEER are 1998 and 1999. Incredibly, these young musicians have already appeared at many major festivals, won numerous competitions and received glowing reviews.
PEER’s sound can best be described as energetic indie rock combined with catchy hooks. On stage the chemistry between the four band members is highly noticeable.
Within months of forming, the band won the 2014 Buma Music Academy Award and a series of regional band competitions. Early 2015 they released ‘Change Me’, their first single. Several gigs later, including Concert at Sea and support for Jett Rebel, in late 2015 they released a second single and video clip ‘Get Out!’.
Last year PEER appeared on the line up of, amongst others: Racoon & Friends, VestRock and for a second time Concert at Sea, In late 2016 the band went on tour through the Netherlands with the Popronde as well as releasing a third single and music video ‘Will Not Be There’.
The single ‘I Don’t Wanna’ was released in March; followed by the long awaited debut EP ‘Mad For It!’ on April 7th. ’Mad For It!’ contains seven powerful songs.
PEER's new single 'Emily' is out now, accompanied by a video shot in one of their favorite cities, Liverpool. With the release of their newest single the band kicks of their fall tour. In the upcoming two months the band will be playing more than 25 shows, amongst which are a big list of Popronde performances.
