This was their first gig, and after a year of their own shows around the U.K., The Joiners came calling again twice more, this time with High Tyde
, Fickle Friends
and Clean Cut Kid
sharing the stage.
This lead to the band's debut single, 'Hide', which was well received by their devoted Southern following, and headline tours followed. After this, follow-up single 'No Way' brought about heavy online hype and buzz.
The universe had other ideas, though, as singer Tyler developed Larynx Nodules, a throat condition that irked even the likes of Sam Smith
and more recently, Adele
. This brought about a break in touring and recording, and for 6 months in 2017, Howland was disbanded.
However, an against-the-odds recovery and intense therapy meant Tyler regained his singing voice, and the group quickly reformed to continue the ascension of their sparkly brand of vintage-tinged Indie Rock. 'No Way - Acoustic' is Tyler's first time singing after the miraculous recovery.
