Till I Gain Control Again is the first release from “Songs From Our Dads”, a collection of songs that traces the musical influences that John Allan Cameron and Clar Doyle have had on the lives and careers of Stuart Cameron & Damhnait Doyle.
Like brother & sister, Stuart and Damhnait have shared many life and musical experiences since meeting backstage at a Canada Day show many years ago. Off-stage they’ve shared life’s sorrows and joys. On stage, Stuart played in the Shaye band before he & Damhnait, with fellow musicians Peter Fusco & Blake Manning, formed The Heartbroken. Each busy professionally, Damhnait released a solo recording last year, & Stuart, always in demand, spent the year on tour with Matthew Good & Crash Test Dummies.
2020 will also see Shaye reunite after 13 years to record “God”. All successful solo artists, Kim Stockwood, Damhnait Doyle & Tara MacLean came together as Shaye to record The Bridge in 2003. Their first single, Happy Baby, hit the top of the pop charts and garnered them several prestigious nominations and awards. The band went on to release other successful singles, a second album, & launched a tv series-all the while touring from coast to coast. While the group was only active as a musical trio for 5 years, Kim, Damhnait and Tara have remained fast friends.
