Zyah Belle's love for music and art was cultivated by her mother who is a choir director, and her aunt who was a vocal coach at her local church in Vallejo,Ca. Zyah got her start singing in her church's children choir. In high-school she went on to excel in theater and vocal ensemble. After graduating high school, Zyah Belle began studying music performance at Sacramento State University and American River College .
She took her gifts to Los Angeles,Ca where she has had the pleasure of recording, writing and performing with many artists such as Grammy award winning producers 1500 or Nothin', Zaytoven, T.I. , B.O.B, Snoop Dogg, Drumma Boy, Too $hort, and Mistah Fab. She has had her music featured in Complex magazine, Sacramento News and Review, and NPR.
She admits that the most challenging aspect of being an artist is the pressure of producing in quantity, as opposed to producing quality. “The industry is so over-saturated with up and coming artists that it can be easy to get caught up in the illusion of competing rather than focusing on creating timeless music,” she says.
