Nuthouse have their very own groove. Sometimes it escalates to such heights that, as someone in the audience once put it, "people just stand there and die".
Their different backgrounds makes them sound very different from other bands. Hardrock, pop, funk jazz and soul. Pour it all in and stir.
The band have performed at the most famous clubs in Stockholm and at various venues throughout Sweden, such as Jazz Club Fasching, Lydmar, Nefertiti, Sturecompagniet and Berns.
The first album, Now is Now, was released in 1994 and featured Anders Johansson, vocals and guitar, Hendrik Bergstén, bass, Mikko Spångberg, drums, Arne Tengstrand, piano, Mats Mårell, saxophone and Johan Setterlind, trumpet.
A second album, Basic Design, was released in 1998 and featured 11 instrumental tracks. It was selected as one of that year's best albums by readers of the leading Swedish jazz magazine OJ.
The third album, One hand, was release in 2007 and feature 12 original vocal songs.
Nuthouse have also released a live recording from Sweden’s most famous Jazz Club Fasching.
Today, the band includes Anders Johansson, Hendrik Bergstén, Mikko Spångberg, and Arne Tengstrand. Lately, it has also included musicians such as Jonas Wall, saxophone, and Jouni Happala, percussion.
Examples of other great musicians who have performed with Nuthouse: Rafael Sida, David Wilczewski, Mikael Nilsson, Pablo Cepeda, Nils Jansson, Magnus Persson, Ludvig Girland, Alfredo Chacon and Erik Häusler.
