Evan Handyside is a guitarist from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. He composes instrumental guitar pieces that employ space and ambient reverb. Within his music, Evan subtly combines the genres of World Music, Americana, and contemporary guitar to create depth and sentiment. Evan is heavily influenced by the music of composer, Gustavo Santaolalla. He credits Santaolalla's 2005 Academy Award winning Brokeback Mountain Soundtrack as a transformative music experience. Soon after that release, Evan began experimenting with minimalist acoustic guitar and concentrating on film music. Handyside's music is also influenced by Jeff Buckley, and the film composers : Max Richter, Jóhann Jóhannsson, and Dustin O'Halloran. Evan Handyside has released two instrumental and contemplative albums in the New Age/World genre: Sinking Ships & Wooden Kings -- EP, and The Garden Tomb. Additionally, Evan has written and performed the music for 3 short films: Broken Noons - Guillermo L. Vasquez. But for the Fall of Rain - Adam Taylor Anna - Sakis Karpas Evan Handyside is also the bassist for the Pittsburgh based alt-rock band, New Invisible Joy. As a member of New Invisible Joy, Evan opened for numerous national artists like John Mayer, The Killers, Rufus Wainwright, Nirvana’s Krist Novoselic, and many more.

He has also performed on television, radio, and at major-label showcases.
