A Berlin based quasi-reggae/ragga style band, Ohrbooten mixed political and humorous lyrics with a melange of musics that the band themselves dubbed "Gyp-Hop" -- gypsy and hip-hop, that is.
Signed to the same label as independent punk outfit Die Toten Hosen, Ohrbooten released their first album, Spieltrieb, in 2005. Singles followed, and in 2007, the band released not one but two full-lengths, Babylon Boot and You Only Live Once. They also made appearances at some of the bigger festivals, including Rock am Ring and Summerjam, as well as sponsoring an anti-racism initiative in public schools. ~ Chris True, Rovi
