McFadden’s Parachute - Rochester New York. Formed 1988 by Darren Brennessel aka Dagwood McFadden (b.
Dec. 7, 1964) recording authentic 1960’s psychedelic garage rock since 1990. He first came up with the idea as an art student at R.I.T. when he was lead singer for the Rochester garage band The 4 Hestons. Brennessel had written a dozen or so songs he felt needed to be recorded in an authentic way so he built a recording studio in a storage unit using cassette decks and 4-track tape machines, taught himself how to multi-track and began recording. He sings, plays all vintage instruments as well as records, mixes and produces every song, creates the artwork, photography and graphic design for every McFadden’s Parachute album - 29 albums (over 400 songs) since 1990. McFadden’s Parachute toured in 1999 with a lineup that included Rick Cona of Chesterfield Kings, Dave Anderson The Projectiles gigging at CBGB’s in NYC Geno’s in Portland, Maine and The Midway in Boston. In 2005 Brennessel was drummer for a studio album by Sky Sunlight Saxon (of legendary 60’s band The Seeds) and has kept busy as a drummer in other garage bands over the last 3 decades - The Purple Flashes, The Rising Sons, The Quatloos, Cousin Al and The New Generation, The Lost Marbles, The LSD Enigma and currently The Missing Dimension.
