From the snowbound wilds of central New Hampshire comes Jason Anderson, an endearing songwriter and performer whose work is as anthemic as it is affecting.
In 2015, Anderson was asked by California punks Joyce Manor to open their US tour, and subsequently joined Strand of Oaks in the studio - and as touring guitarist - for the Hard Love LP. He has also collaborated with Phil Elverum, who produced Jason's New England and enlisted him on guitar for Mount Eerie's Black Wooden Ceiling Opening.
In 2018, Anderson started work on an ambitious new album of his own with producer Thomas Wincek (Volcano Choir, Field Report). A demo of Toll Booth was released that fall.
On the cusp of the record's completion, Anderson announced that he would release a "lost session" every month of 2019. The first in that series - The Mark EP - was issued in January and the ragged Americana of Restless followed. March and April featured introspective folk in the form of Shadows and Back to Boston, while May introduced E-Street-worthy stadium rock with Hidden Light. June and July dropped Auburn and Summer Style, respectively, both coming on like classic rock radio filtered through warm, blown-out indie rock.
